An OEM part is produced by or for the original equipment manufacturer and is identified by a manufacturer reference or equipment bill of materials. The term should not be used as a blanket promise of authorization. Each quotation must clearly state the offered manufacturer, part number and condition.
Some requirements call for the identical original reference; others allow a technically approved replacement. State which case applies. Discontinued and legacy parts can be searched internationally, but availability, traceability, condition and documentation must be confirmed before purchase.
Provide the OEM or component manufacturer, complete part number, equipment model, quantity and required date. Photos of the nameplate, connectors and mounting arrangement are useful when the reference is incomplete. Supply voltage, ratings, firmware or revision constraints where relevant.
Compare the quotation with the original requirement. Confirm manufacturer, suffix, revision, condition, quantity, lead time, warranty terms, documentation and delivery terms. Engineering must approve any alternative before it is installed in equipment.
Send the manufacturer, exact part number, quantity, destination country and required delivery date. If the requested item is not visible in the catalog, submit it through the RFQ or contact form for a sourcing review.
